How To Avoid Wig Oxidation

SHANI’S TOP TIPS

Summer is all about sunshine - but too much heat, humidity, and UV can leave your wig looking faded or brassy. That’s oxidation.

The good news? We’ve put together simple ways to prevent it and preserve your wig’s color, shine, and softness.

1. UV PROTECTION

Ensure you protect your wig from UV lights. Sometimes, UV lights can damage the hair by drying it and the hair can then break . So, be mindful and keep your wig protected all summer long with a protect & prevent spray. - Add product to cart.

2. SUN EXPOSURE

Wear a silk scarf or hat for a breathable, stylish shield against sun damage and oxidation. If you have a lace front wig, opt for a scarf to protect the delicate lace and extend your wig’s life. - Add product to cart.

3. TONING

Already noticing oxidation? Don’t stress, it can be reversed! A professional colorist can tone your wig to refresh its original shade, softness, and shine. If you wear your wig daily, we recommend toning it every 12–18 months, depending on wear.
