I’m so excited to welcome you into the world of wig making - a hands-on introduction to the craft, with a focus on sewing, ventilation, and assembly.

Over the five sessions, you’ll be guided through our signature Shani Wigs techniques by me and our expert team.

Learn the foundations

You’ll move beyond theory into hands-on work - learning how to handle hair, operate machinery, and execute each step with precision. Every technique is taught with real application in mind.

What we'll cover

Understanding construction
How wigs are built, step by step. Wig cap structure and key components. Fit, measurements, and adjustments.

Working with hair
Selecting quality hair. Roots vs. tips. Creating natural returns. Preparing hair using a drawing board.

Wefts & machine work
Creating custom wefts. Operating an industrial and basic sewing machine. Techniques for durability and finish.

Cap work & repairs
Taking in or enlarging a cap. Sewing wefts using industry methods. Refining fit for a seamless result.

Lace & hairline work
Sewing and tightening lace. Tracing a natural hairline. Ventilation and directional work.

Dates: Sunday July 5 - Thursday July 9, 2026

Time: 5:00pm - 7:00pm

Location: Brooklyn, New York - Shani Wigs Salon. (In-person only).

Level: Beginner, no experience needed

Included: Printed curriculum, tool kit and access to our trusted hair suppliers.
