Shani Wigs Team: Do you struggle with hair loss or hair thinning, if so how long has it been, how did it affect your everyday life?

Brinkley: I have had Alopecia Areata since about 2011. I had never had to wear a wig, though, until after Covid. I briefly wore a wig in 2021, but my hair regrew. The unknown has added a lot of uncertainty to my daily routine, as l have had to adjust my hair routine to hide spots. SW: What did you think of wigs before, did you have any preconceived ideas?

BS: My mom has alopecia, too, and has worn a wig for as long as I can remember!

SW: How did you take the plunge to buy your first custom wig?

BS: I had follow Shani Wigs for a while on Instagram, and as my hair loss worsened this year, I knew that if I was going to were a wig, I wanted it to be one that felt and looked real.

SW: How did you feel wearing a wig in the beginning?

BS: It was a bit of a transition if only because I had no bad hair days!

SW: How does it feel now to wear your custom Shani Wigs piece?

BS: I feel more confident and more like my old self. The hair is fine and moves like my hair did, so it feel very natural and comfortable.
